The Cooking Cooks Italian Kitchen, Netil Market, London

It’s no secret that one of my favourite things about my annual holiday to Italy (along with seeing my wonderful family of course) is the food. As soon as I start on the Anti-pasti there’s no stopping me until I’ve passed Secondi, collected 1000 calories and bought Dulci. The thing I crave the most when I’m in London is the fresh pasta and I’m thrilled that I’ve finally found somewhere to fend off the cravings and indulge.Cooking cooksThe Cooking Cooks Italian Kitchen have just shacked up (literally) in Netil Market near London Fields joining other fab food vendors such as Lucky Chip and Victoria Yum and her cake shack. Ali and Francesco, the couple behind the Italian kitchen, and friends are serving a selection of home made pasta dishes plus other Italian classics for £5-6 a portion. They make their pasta fresh on site and pair it with sauces that are full of fresh, vibrant ingredients yet cleverly, the pasta remains the main event.

The menu changes weekly if not daily based on what’s in season and what their suppliers deliver. Here is selection of the dishes I tasted on my visit.Ravioli

Beautiful Ravioli alla Napoletana with delicate hints of parsley and creamy ricotta, with fresh tomato and basilRocket, Ndjua

Cavatelli with warming and spicy Nduja, crunchy red onions and fresh rocketMeatballs

Polpetta della nonna, rich melt in the mouth meatballs in a ragu with sourdough and fresh salad

Gnocchi

Delicious bouncy Gnocchi with sausage ragu
Tiramisu

Tiramisu

Go and visit the team at Netil Market soon or find out more about other upcoming events (including super fun looking pasta masterclasses) here.

PS. I didn’t eat all of this.
